COMEDIAN * AUTHOR * CORPORATE SPEAKER
John
Jackshaw shows that rare potential of a comic who understands the possibilities
of translating reality into solid material and laughs.
Steve B. Young-political editor of National Lampoon
His slanted view of the world
has audiences coming back again and again I guarantee you that John Jackshaw
will move your audience in ways that will remind you of days gone by when
the comedian came out and simply ‘had his way’ with the room.
Rod Mitchell-Adventures in Media, Inc.
John Jackshaw is what we in the comedy biz call a natural, and is a prolific
writer, coming up with new, hilarious material every time we work together.
Chuck Montgomery-comedyguy.net
I particularly admire John Jackshaw's willingness to risk new material and
his desire to keep adding to his show and tailoring it for each event. John’s
eyes may not work, but that doesn’t mean he lacks vision.

Surprise at Monday night's open mic/showcase show at
Hollywood's Comedy Store…. An outrageously funny (and did I say blind)
comedian was caught in traffic, and didn't arrive at the Comedy Store comedy
club in time to make the cut for performers, but he stayed for the show anyway,
and ended up in a friendly banter with show host Jeff Duran.
The job of the MC/HOST is to clean up after each comic, barbing the comic and
the audience. Comedian, John Jackshaw (THAT BLIND GUY, from Houston), in the
audience, was questioned by Duran for not being particularly attentive to the
stage. When it was pointed out that John was blind, that began a friendly flurry
of comments between John and Jeff, culminating in the audience demanding that
John take the stage. Jeff graciously welcomed John Jackshaw to the stage.
Then John took over, delivering a succession of sharp punch lines, and a little
audience controversy. When an audience member yelled out "YO" (Reminiscent of
Ed McMahon from the Tonight Show With Johnny Carson), John quipped back, "I
see Ed McMahon has returned from the dead." Later discussions as to whether
Ed was still alive were heard. Not to worry. Ed is still with us, it was just
a joke. John Jackshaw returned to Sunset BLVD Tuesday night, in a scheduled
showcase at The Laugh Factory, where he took the audience on a comedy coaster
ride, with topics from ”Stutterers’ Anonymous” to the news of the day, to the
freezing of Walt Disney.
This was John Jackshaw’s second Laugh Factory showcase and forth-successful
trip to Hollywood, and certainly not the last. -Leslye Dodd
